FOUNDATIONAL TERM
Perfusion
灌注
Passage of blood through tissue.
Study this concept in context
11 · Circulation: vessels, pressure and tissue perfusion
Blood pressure helps drive circulation, but does not directly measure tissue oxygen supply. Follow blood through arteries, the microcirculation and veins to connect pressure, resistance and exchange.
75 · Chronic respiratory disease
Breathlessness can arise from airways, air sacs, circulation, or other systems. Chronic respiratory disease connects airflow and gas exchange with daily care and acute deterioration.
13 · Breathing: ventilation, gas exchange and regulation
Air entering the lungs, oxygen entering blood and blood delivering oxygen to cells are connected but distinct processes. Separating them clarifies what breathing rate, oxygen saturation and breathlessness can reveal.
